After two years, we won the federation's logo competition out of 74 participants and redesigned the Hungarian Powerlifting Federation's 26-year old logo. Miklos Fekete, one of the lead board members, reached out to us and said: "Gary, we may have an even bigger task than the logo redesign was. We want to trust you with this honourable and hugely responsible task to design Hungary's first national singlet."
After more than five years of negotiation between SBD and the Hungarian Powerlifting Federation, Hungary got its first national singlet design in April 2024. The federation and the target audience were extremely excited and happy about the outcome. They even created a long blog post about the journey of the national singlet design.

The project had a huge responsibility as it will represent our country in every world and European competition in the coming years. We felt the pressure, but the research stage, a collaborative effort with many top Hungarian athletes and teams, helped a lot.
The athletes and the board members agreed that they love the SBD National singlet designs of Canada, Bulgaria, New Zealand, Finland and Ireland. So, we had a clear creative direction for the simple and minimalist design.
We mixed their visions with our ideas and experiments and Miklos Fekete's fantastic visions (Hunpower lead board member) to create a design that truly represents Hungary.

After speaking to Hungary's top teams and athletes, almost everybody wanted to see the Hungarian Coat of Arms as the main symbol on the singlet. Miklos (our client) also agreed with those ideas. So we started tweaking it and created a single-colour, simplified version that can be easily used with any colour and shade.
Our main goal was to create a timeless design with beautiful colours but still have deep Hungarian vibes. We had to represent the country with one symbol, which was challenging, as Hungary has a long and rich history.
